This is the Action Center for the project StopTraffickingDemand.com
The booming demand for trafficked women and children in recent years is due in part to the proliferation of pornography.
Government officials, pop culture icons, media leaders and concerned citizens are calling for increased efforts to stop this exploitation. However, it must be recognized that unless something is done to curb the demand, we will never solve the problem of trafficking. Instead, the problem will continue to overwhelm our society.
There is a seamless shift among the different types of sexual exploitation. Pornography, sexually oriented businesses, prostitution and sex trafficking are all incontestably linked. It is time we stop ignoring the continuum of exploitation in order to start solving the problem.
